Overwolf – Community Guidelines
Last updated: March 01, 2024
At Overwolf, our community is built on a foundation of openness and respect, and we welcome users, creators, authors and developers ("Users") from all backgrounds to foster a supportive and inclusive environment with us.
These Community Guidelines ("Community Guidelines") are a set of norms and expectations that are intended to design a safe and welcoming space for everyone while allowing Users the freedom to create and share a range of experiences and perspectives. These Community Guidelines apply to all accounts and content, including mods, applications, texts, comments and links. By accessing, installing or using any of the services provided by Overwolf, you hereby accept these Community Guidelines, which are integrated into and form a part of Overwolf policies.
We take violations of these Community Guidelines very seriously. When we find someone has violated our Community Guidelines, we take actions that can include removal of content, a warning, and/or suspension of their account. We encourage all Users to report any content or accounts which they believe violate these Community Guidelines, and our team will investigate the report and take the necessary action to ensure the safety of our Users. This can be done via support@overwolf.com.
We want to note that this is a live document, ever evolving as our community at Overwolf grows and as we add measures to protect your safety.
Safety
We prioritize the safety of our Users and we have a zero-tolerance policy towards any activities that may jeopardize their well-being. Overwolf does not allow the distribution of content that glorifies, promotes, or encourages self-harm. We also prohibit activity that may endanger your life, lead to your physical harm, or encourage others to engage in physically harmful behavior. These prohibited activities include but are not limited to the use of drugs, alcohol, weapons, or any other dangerous products; engaging or supporting terrorism, money laundering, organized crimes, or any activities threatening public's safety.
Sexually explicit or suggestive content
One of our key principles is the prohibition of sexually explicit or suggestive content that may make Users feel uncomfortable, objectified, or threatened. Any form of inappropriate text, videos, images, or audio content is strictly prohibited. This also extends to any material that is sexual or pornographic, including but not limited to sexually explicit language, gestures, and emojis. Furthermore, offering sexual services or sexual interactions of any kind within Overwolf is not acceptable. Any such behavior will result in immediate account removal and potential reporting to relevant authorities.
In addition, Overwolf prohibits any content or activity that endangers youth. This includes content that features or promotes child sexual abuse material, and the sexual exploitation, sexual misconduct or grooming of youth (which is defined as minors under 18). You may not show or promote in any way any content that contains sexualized images of minors, admits participation in the sexual exploitation or sexualization of minors, depicting nudity of minors or identifying abuse victims by name or image.
Violence
Overwolf looks to create a safe environment for all our Users. Overwolf will not allow content that promotes violence that is graphic, gratuitous, sadistic, or glorifies real-world suffering. Additionally, content that depicts violent or graphic imagery, such as animal abuse, decapitation, gore, and violent death, will not be permitted.
However, it is important to note that fictional or dramatized content that contains violent and graphic elements is allowed on the platform as long as enough context is given to understand that the footage is dramatized or fictional.
Terrorism and violent extremism promote unlawful violence and spread messages of intolerance. Overwolf does not allow content that depicts, glorifies, encourages, or supports terrorism, or violent extremist actors or acts. This includes threatening to or encouraging others to commit acts that would result in serious physical harm or significant property destruction.
Bullying, harassment, threats and hate speech
You cannot attempt to intimidate anyone, either directly or by using your influence over others. We treat real-life interactions more seriously than online interactions when analyzing whether a line has been crossed because it can be more threatening and lead to physical violence. When both sides engage in similar behavior, such as feuds between public figures, we are less likely to take action.
Therefore, there is no room on Overwolf for content funding hate speech, such as calling for violence, exclusion, or segregation. This includes serious attacks on people based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious medical conditions, caste, or immigration status.
Any User threatening the well-being of an individual or group of people will be removed. This includes threatening behavior such as stalking or inciting others to commit violent acts.
