4. Information We Collect

  1. Gameplay Recordings

    • Video Footage: Digital capture of your game screen.
    • System Audio: All game and system sounds by default (configurable).
    • Microphone Input: Optional capture of your voice if enabled.
    • Recording Mode Metadata: Includes mode selection (Highlights, Full Match, Full Session, Manual) and clip timestamps.
  2. In-Game Event Data

    • Event Triggers: In-game events (e.g., kills, deaths, wins, match start/end) obtained via GEP to generate highlight clips.
  3. Metadata & Device Data

    • Device identifiers (IP address, unique user ID, etc.), usage data, and technical information, as collected by the Overwolf platform. For more details, please refer to the Overwolf Privacy Policy.

5. How We Collect Information

  1. Automatic Recording Modes. Outplayed automatically captures gameplay based on the supported mode:

    • Highlights:

      • For games supported by Overwolf’s Game Event Provider (GEP).

      • Records only selected events (e.g., kills, deaths, wins) with a configurable “tail” (approximately 15 seconds before and 5 seconds after the event).

      • Each highlight is saved as a separate media file.

    • Full Match:

      • For games that support a “match start” event but are not GEP-supported.

      • Records only the match (excluding lobby time), saved as separate files per match.

    • Full Session:

      • For supported games without match-start events.

      • Records the entire session (from game start to close), saved as a single file; may be automatically split at match end.

    • Manual Only:

      • No automatic recording.

      • You must press the designated hotkey to start/stop recording or bookmark a moment (capturing a configurable tail, e.g., 20 seconds prior).

      • Each manual recording is saved as a separate file.

The application selects the default mode in the following order:

    1. If GEP-supported → Highlights

    2. Else if “match start” event supported → Full Match

    3. Else if game supported by Overwolf → Full Session

    4. Otherwise → Manual Only

  2. Manual Recording

In “Manual Only” mode, recordings are initiated only when you press the designated hotkey. Bookmarks capture a pre-configured tail from the moment of activation.

  3. Game Event Provider (GEP)

GEP is not used exclusively in Highlights mode. For games that support GEP, the system also enhances other modes (e.g., Full Match or Full Session) by marking relevant in-game events on the recording timeline. Games that do not support GEP cannot use Highlights mode.
